Information I collect
To complete your order, you must provide Etsy with certain information, such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and the details of the product you are ordering. Etsy will share this information with me, automatically and with your authorisation, when you enter your details.
You may also need to provide me with additional personal information (for example, a date or names needed to create personalised products).
How I use your information
I collect, use, store and share your information based on a number of legal grounds, including:
- Performance of a contract / provision of services. I need your information in order to provide my services, for example to fulfil your order, to resolve disputes, or to provide customer support.
- Consent. I may use your information if you have given me your consent — for example, by subscribing to my mailing list. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
- Legal obligations. I may use your information if necessary to comply with a legal obligation or a court order, or in connection with a legal claim — for example, retaining information about your purchases as required by tax law.
- Legitimate interests. I may use your information where it is necessary for my legitimate interests, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights or interests. For example: (1) using your information to provide the services you have requested and, in my legitimate interest, to improve my services; and (2) compliance with Etsy’s Seller Policy and Terms of Use. I use your information as necessary to comply with my obligations under Etsy’s Seller Policy and Terms of Use.
Sharing and disclosure of information
Customer information is important to my business. I share your personal information only for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:
- Etsy. I share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you with my services and to comply with my obligations under Etsy’s Seller Policy and Terms of Use.
- Service providers. I engage trusted third parties to perform certain functions and provide services for my shop, such as delivery companies. I share your personal information with these third parties only to the extent necessary to perform these services.
- Compliance with laws. I may collect, use, retain and share your information if I reasonably believe it is necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or government requests; (b) enforce agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate and address fraud and other illegal activity, security or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property and safety of my customers, or others.
Data retention
I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services, as described in this Privacy Policy. However, I may be required to retain this information to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. As a general rule, I retain your data for the following period: 4 years.
Transfers of personal information outside the EU
At present, I do not use third-party hosting services to store or process your information. As a result, I do not transfer your personal information to jurisdictions with data protection and government surveillance laws that differ from those in force in your jurisdiction.
Your rights
If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, others apply only in specific circumstances. Your rights include:
- Access. You have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the details below.
- Rectification, restriction, erasure. You also have the right to correct your personal information, restrict the use of your personal information, or request deletion of your personal information. Subject to certain exceptions (for example, where I am required to store data for legal reasons), I will generally delete your personal information upon request.
- Objection. You can object (i) to my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) to receiving marketing messages from me after you have explicitly consented to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using it or it is required for legal reasons.
Complaints. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.
How to contact me
